Position: Commercial Specialist (Ceramics)

Location: Dewsbury

Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:00, Friday 08:30 - 16:00 with flexibility to accommodate international time zones

Salary: £28,500 - £30,000

Job Overview

A key role providing commercial support across pricing, contracts, and customer activities. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will contribute to the effective coordination of commercial processes and ensure accurate, timely delivery of commercial outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Coordination & Support

  • Support the day-to-day coordination of commercial activities.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager in managing priorities and ongoing initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact for routine commercial queries from internal teams and customers.

Pricing, Costing & Margin Analysis

  • Prepare quotations, pricing updates, and detailed costing analysis.
  • Support margin tracking and highlight trends, risks, or opportunities.
  • Ensure pricing data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with commercial direction.

Contract Management & Compliance

  • Maintain and organise customer contracts, NDAs, and agreements.
  • Support the review of terms and conditions, identifying and flagging risks.
  • Track key contract information, including pricing structures, terms, and renewal dates.
  • Conduct customer screening checks against relevant sanctions lists and compliance requirements.
  • Escalate any potential compliance risks or concerns in line with company procedures.

Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate commercial data within MRP system.
  • Support reporting and ensure consistency of data across functions.
  • Contribute to improvements in data quality and system utilisation.

Sales & Customer Support

  • Work closely with the Sales team to support both new and existing business.
  • Assist with customer communications and ongoing relationship management.
  • Support and attend customer meetings and site visits where required.

Process Improvement & Issue Resolution

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of commercial processes.
  • Support efficient and consistent ways of working across the function.
  • Assist in resolving day-to-day commercial or contractual issues.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a commercial, pricing, administrator or contract-focused role.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of pricing, margins, and commercial processes.
  • Experience supporting contract management and customer agreements.
  • Comfortable using MRP systems and working with data.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently while supporting a wider team.
