Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Location: Alvin, Texas
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our production and quality team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role is responsible for conducting laboratory testing, analyzing materials and products, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting quality assurance processes to ensure products meet company and customer standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with analytical testing equipment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples and perform laboratory analyses using a variety of analytical instruments and testing equipment.
  • Conduct capacity testing and absorbency performance evaluations using specialized test rigs.
  • Perform routine quality control testing of raw materials and finished products according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify and monitor in-process quality testing performed by production personnel.
  • Accurately record test results, maintain documentation, and assist with interpretation of data.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Identify potential hazards and support a safe working environment.
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols, procedures, and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Maintain and organize retained sample inventories and records.
  • Support additional quality and laboratory activities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience operating analytical laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical testing methods and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with attention to accuracy.
  • Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory instruments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in a science-related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with LECO analytical instruments and/or XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, including SAP.
